We are frequently get asked the question why is getting to Lefkas so difficult during the winter months, So...
There are many different variations to getting to Lefkas sometimes direct to Preveza followed by 15 min taxi ride is not always the best mainly because the flights do not run over winter but also you are committed to 1 week minimum before returning due to the flight schedule (Sundays only 2014).
Other variations include flying to Athens and taking the bus/renting a car, Flying to Patra (Ryan air) and taking the bus/renting a car or indeed flying to Corfu and taking the Ferry followed by bus/car rental in Igoumenitsa.
I have tried them all and by far the most convenient is flying into Corfu and taking a Sky Express flight to Preveza, it does mean an early start on (05.55 Easyjet Flight from Gatwick) but will also mean arrival in Lefkas by 15.00 with more options on your departure date

This said, nervous flyers beware the plane is old, loud and somewhat shaky which to some may just add to the adventure
